Mental Health And Exercise
One of my first experiences was as a physiotherapy assistant in an NHS psychiatric hospital. I have worked with patients of both genders, ages 16-96, with a variety of mental health issues. Although often difficult, it is very rewarding to know that this training is well received and that some communication and relationship obstacles can be overcome. It was an interesting time where I learned a lot about mental health issues and developed some skills relevant to my future career. Understand the world of mental health, today's age, race, gender, disability, and more. However, I recommend exercise as one of the most important forms of activity for people with this condition.
Most people lead active lives before developing
mental health problems, and if they move into a stressful environment, their new life may not necessarily be comfortable. This is often associated with low self-esteem, mood swings, etc. can affect reduction.
The introduction of reliable and convenient regular and careful exercise can have a significant impact on people and the environment:
A person will feel stronger, his spirit will be lifted and he will begin to show interest in the environment and his neighbors.
can be improved, patients can interact more with each other and their caregivers, and the element of fun is introduced unusually and unexpectedly.
Instructors must be aware of the medical and physical conditions of each group and, more importantly, the exercises that take them into account. In this mind, only qualified professionals or trainers suitable for this type of work are the right people to provide regular training to frail and disabled groups.
to encourage participation. The most important thing when offering exercise to people with medical and/or intellectual disabilities is to remember that they still have Freedom of Choice and can choose not to participate! This is not necessarily the teacher's words, they just say "thank you for today" and should be respected.
Training of unwilling participants is a form of abuse and should be avoided at all costs. However, the benefits of sports are many and varied and should be accessible to all.
